This past weekend, we took the kids to the Bloomsburg Fair. Bloomsburg has one of the largest fairs in PA, and Andy and his family have been going there all his life. This means that even though we live 3 hours from Bloomsburg, we made the trip.
The trip up was a comedy of errors right from the moment we left the house. Knowing we'd be gone for 12 hours or more, we had to figure out what to do with the dogs. Spike, the Jack Russell, is very good when left alone, but that was just too long to leave him. Mika, the 6-month-old German shepherd puppy, can't be left alone for one hour, let alone 12. So we had to bring the dogs along for the ride and leave them with Andy's aunt who lives near the fair.

After 2 episodes of vomit and one episode of poop in her crate, we arrived. Somehow, the dog lived to tell the tale.

You know, I've never tried a funnel cake . . . If I'd been there, I would have gone for the funnel cake. I don't think the fried Oreo would have tempted me . . .
It looks like the family had a great time!
It's so good to see you back here! I went to a fair this weekend and don't judge me but I had a deep fried Snickers. If heaven was deepfried I tell you this would be it!
Looks like the kids had so much fun!
What's a little bit of vomit and poop for a kid's happiness; let alone x3! Or at least that is what I would have been telling myself the rest of the trip :D Way to go mom for not turning the car around! I didn't make it to a fair this year, and while a fried oreo does nothing for me; I would almost kill for a lemon shake up!!!! I did manage to get some Malone's taffy though!
I love your panoramic shot - I just don't want to know how you got it. And fried Oreos - noooooooo! I'm not a big fan of fried. well, actually I am, but my cholesterol level isn't, so I have convinced myself that I'm not either.
Never had a fried oreo - must be kinda good!! ;) Looks like everyone had fun at the fair - sorry the dogs got sick.
What a terrific sky!!
Love the action and color of these shots. But where are the shots of the trip? I hear it was eventful. LOL
Fried Oreos? Not sure about that one! Your pictures are so colorful and fun. After a ride on the Tilt-A-Whirl, I would have been the one vomiting, though. :)
I love seeing fair shots. . . and they always make me think of vomit anyway! (For a minute, I was afraid you were about to say you took the dogs for a little ride on the tilt-a-whirl, but then read this more closely!)
The new thang at our fair this past summer was deep fried BUTTER! :-x Add that to the rest of your story and I think I might just barf!
But I'm with Andy...I'd drive 3 hours for a good fair any day! :-)
Yeah, well, they got chocolate covered bacon at a midwest fair and "fried butter" which means they pack a doughball and inject the middle with butter. The frying encases the butter which liquifies....I don't know if this is some kind of treat, but I'm guessing it is akin to fried oreos. We wouldn't have a health crisis in this country if it wasn't for some fuzzy liberals trying to tell us what to eat!!
Otherwise, fun fair!
Nice Post...!!!
