Winter Blahs

I got 'em.
I got 'em bad.
I can't seem to muster much enthusiasm for anything. A lot of this has to do with the fact that it's been extra snowy and COLD here. We've officially made it into the top-ten snowiest winter list, I believe. If not, we're very close. Today, it got up to around 40 degrees and I felt giddy, like it was spring or something.
Another little whiny spot in my life right now (one of many, I assure you) is that my migraines have been getting more frequent. I'm having 2-3 a week, which really sucks. As an aside, if you know me, this has nothing to do with the condition for which I had the brain surgery in 2006, so that's a plus. Anyway, the neuro decided that it was time to try a nasty little drug called Topamax. So far, I'm only on half the dosage I'll be on within a couple of weeks and I'm already getting some of the not-fun side effects, like tingly hands and feet and a foggy/doped up feeling. Why can't I get the good side effects, like weight loss??
These icicles look like teeth to me. The teeth of some really mean monster. Teeth that will hurt when they bite.

Aw, I'm sorry about the headaches. But despite the blahs, you caught the glisten on those icicles. Hang in there, woman.

Sorry about the blahs, but I wish I had icicle around here to photograph. I guess the grass is always greener:) I really like the "monster teeth."

Icicles are beautiful. Hang in there with the meds. These things sometimes take some working out.

Your photos are beautiful, though I am so sorry about how cold it's been.

I've had migraines for 32 years, I know they are no fun to try and deal with. I tried Topamax a couple of years ago, didn't last very long on it though. I hope it works well for you if you can get through the side effects. One thing I've noticed is that I get them much more frequently this time of year. I think mine are weather related (we've never been able to figure out a true trigger). Is it possible yours are as well?

Also, have you found something that works for you to manage the pain when you get them? I've used Imitrex (the injection and the nasal spray) and having it as a back up in a godsend.

Fingers crossed you can get some relief soon!

I'm sorry about your migranes, but you're going to puncture your face taking icicle shots like that! You're freaking me out, man! (Welcome back, by the way.)

Oh honey... I'm right there with you with the blahs. I hate it. And I am so sorry to hear about your headaches and the nasty meds... I hope those side effects fade very soon and that you can start to feel BETTER. {{{hugs}}}

It is early in the year, Amy. There is time for many, many great photo shots to come.

It will be considered a great year in photography if you post only one more picture all year....

seeing YOU in the picture of good health!

Snow levels here are so high that it is predicted the GroundHog, Punxatawney Phil, will not be able to get out of the ground to predict.

But I predict we will all be enjoying your creativity as fast as a prayer can be answered.

You are already Ahead of your Ability.
Soon, you will be Ahead of Your Health.
Expect a miracle.
They are STILL the specialty of His House.

Best regards,
Danny Lucas

Im sorry about the migraines.. I don't get them often but when I do they are a killer so I can't imagine what you must be going through... Maybe the cold and snow is part of the problem and will go away with the cold...

Love the icicle shots. They are very pretty

Very cool shot with that last one! I'm sorry you're having the migraines, I don't have any experience with them, but they sound miserable.
