One of my favorite things about Wintergreen Gorge is the rock formations. I love the layers of sedimentary rock and I like to imagine the whole area under some vast ocean, millions of years ago.
And I also like the things you can find on and around the rocks, like this emerald green beetle.
Makes me wonder what else might be under there.

Wow, those layers of rock are SO COOL! Imagine all that rock had to go through over so many years to get those ridges like that. And holy moly, that is one BRIGHT green beetle! I don't think I want to know what else might be in there though.. LOL!
I love Wintergreen gorge. Beautiful shots. Love the Green bug. ~Jackie
omg, that beetle is a GEM!
That texture is too cool, wow! That's also quite the bug...who needs urban acid when you've got him?
Cool shots--I really love that last one. Great perspective and I love all those layers.
That bug almost looks out of this world with his green glowiness! Very, very awesome catch. The layers of rock are so interesting.
Those are some super-cool rocks! And the color of the beetle is amazing! Amy :)
I love the last shot. And the green in the little bug is intense!
