Emily at the bayfront

I took Em down to the bayfront the other night to shoot a few pics. I experimented with some really grungy, lomo-ish processing. CC always welcome!

Great shots. My favorites are the ones the pier type thing...such a cool spot!

I like the one with the posts - creates leading lines

The grunge processing works great with the location and her outfit. I also love all the random shots you posted. I like to see proof that I'm not the only one who gets really overexposed and/or blurry shots. :-)

I love those posts, too, and the texture on them is awesome!
And how neat is that Art sign? Looks like you gals had fun! :)

Em is such a willing subject--how lucky for both of you. I like the shots where you are at eye-level with her.

That Art sign is so cool--works so well with the whole feel of these. The one on the pier with the posts is really neat--great leading lines. What a fun time with your model!

These are so good.
There is a story in each one.

The first picture has feet on solid ground with a solid white line approaching. But the moment that line crosses to the pants, the lines of white divide into two rays and the plaid takes over.

It is an arresting moment. A pondering is going on; to reveal? or to conceal? The embracing arms is like a child; the whispy facial expression a woman.
One eye revealed; one concealed.
The back panels detract from the youthful cleanliness of Em's pose.

Lighting makes a "too bright" in the face look, but that aqua blue thumbnail takes you away from the face, and move on to the conumdrum; embracing childhood a little longer....or, this is a grown up ME. I like this shot!

The second pic is better yet.
It has an alignment that speaks "I am at peace". Generally, shadows are in a different position, but this one is captured with the tilt of Em's head. The shadow, the head, the arm line up in an orderly fashion. This is unusual and the fullness of the balance of the shadow makes the door insignificant and draws all attention to Em.

People would pay for that facial expression; it is divine. She is relaxed enough to reveal a tattoo, previously undisclosed.

I would crop that sewer pipe out from the very right edge...it detracts.
The whole picture speaks "There is a Door to Me" and "I'm Home".
I would double mat and frame this shot in 5 X 7 and the matting would be the same colors found in the eggshell spattering on those sneakers.

The third shot is the best of the three so far. Cut that sewer pipe out again! The face is awesome. Sneakers come alive in detail and the green vine in the background right, is growing straight up! it is the symbol of life and reaching for the light. So is the model!

The diagonal shadow, head tilt, and arm are in perfect alignment
The white wall adds zip; I'd crop that out and let Em's strong presence do the talking.

I see mostly short comments here so I hesitate to add more, but the best shot is ART.
The "ART" is in the picture. There are 3 girls there; Em, a shadow, and a reflection. Welcome to Art of the Model!
The entire peninsula is reflected in the window. (I wish the car was gone and the scenery in full, yet reverse view).
The feet are posed like a link in the chain. You pay this kid or not??? Keep snappin!

I really like the shots by the posts on the pier. The repetition in the one is awesome.
